October 4th 2024. Sefton too strong for the U14 Girls' team.

This is probably the toughest start to a season one of our teams has faced and if meeting Liverpool in our opening game wasn't bad enough we had to follow that up with a Friday evening fixture at Lilleshall against their bitter rivals Sefton who on current form appear to be even more formidable. To put in so much effort and lose 10-1 is obviously a disappointing result but we must never lose sight of the fact that we have talented players as well and this is the level we must aspire to. It is not just about footballing ability, however, and even though we were a liitle depleted in certain positions, we never came close to matching the athleticism and fitness levels of the opposition. It wasn't all one way traffic of course and we undoubtedly played very well in patches.Indeed, with a bit of luck (which never seems to come our way), Dhemi could even have had a hat trick. The one chance she did convert though was pretty special and she put her great pace to good use to reach a long ball before beating the advancing keeper.

Squad: Kornelia Kruczynska, Caitlin Gregg, Esme Shields, Scarlett Lewis, Xienna Fletcher, Suvannah Lal, Surannah Lister, Erin Leo, Remi McKetty, Tayne Perry, Dhemi Lee Simpson-Taylor.
