The lads faced South Birmingham with a full team looking for their first win in 3 games and it was clear they meant business from the kick off. Both teams were certainly up for the challenge, however, and there were good chances created at both ends of the pitch before Wolverhampton gradually took control. We created numerous chances with Thai, Lucas and Albaji all finding themselves in great positions but despite our undoubted dominance the match remained goalless at the break.
The pattern continued in the second half and Fabian, Corban and Nihaal were introduced in a effort to break the deadlock and just when our opponents looked capable of conjuring up something of their own Aarav ,who was once again giving a man of the match performance, capitalised on a rebound and found the net. The South Birmingham goalkeeper had looked unpassable up to that point but once we had made the initial breakthrough Fabian was able to seal victory shortly afterwards with a simple tap in. South Birmingham found themselves through on goal five minutes from the end to pull a goal back, but they were unable to prevent us from getting a deserved victory. We hadn't played South Birmingham before, but they were a dogged outfit, and I'm sure they would have been extremely dangerous on the break if we had not put in such a strong defensive display.
Squad: Jakson, Uthmann, Charlie, Ollie, Irorun, Albaji, Lucas, Thai, Aarav, Fabian, Corban, Nihaal.
