January 21st 2024. U13 Girls warm up for Slough with a win.

Our old friends from Kewford Eagles entertained the U13 girls for this friendly fixture and provided excellent opposition in a competitive match played in horrendous conditions. The home team were seeking revenge, as we had won the two previous contests between the two sides, but in the end we were really good value for our 3-1 victory. The stong wind was the only winner, however, and try as they might neither side were able to play their normal game because of its total dominance. All three of our goals were well worked and Faith (2) and Dhemi showed their ability to get on to the end of penetrating balls hit into the penalty box and our persistent running and overall movement up front was a constant menace. That said, this was also a win based on a sound defensive performance (to which the whole team contributed) and Remi McKetty was at the heart of it providing a a super performance from right back. It is always pleasing to win of course but the whole purpose of this game was to prepare for next week's National Plate QF. at Slough and it also gave us an opportunity to involve most of our regular squad as well as giving debuts to Xienna Fletcher and Sarannah Lister. Good luck in next weeks encounter. I wonder who David Brent and the crowd from 'The Office' will be supporting!

Squad:

Kornelia Kruczynska, Remi McKetty, Caitlin Gregg, Xienna Fletcher,Harmani Gill, Savannah Lal, Faith Hilton Warner, Dhemi Lee Simpson, Lexi Ruby, Carly Johnson, Erin Leo, Sarannah Lister.
