In recent seasons our Primary girls' team has done well in The Chris Smith Cup but on this occasion we never really got out of the starting blocks and we eventually finished in 4th place.
We were a little bit unlucky to lose 2-0 to Newbury, the surprise team of the competition, who ultimately went on to lift the Trophy but otherwise untroubled defensively and it was once
again our inability to convert chances that proved to be our downfall. Indeed, apart from
Naveah, Ruby and Rosie all hitting the target during the 4-3 penalty shoot out defeat to North Shropshire none of our players actually scored a goal all evening and therein lies the problem. The games against Sutton Coldfield and North Shropshire both finished goalless and whilst we defeated Harborne 2-0 our two 'efforts' were own goals! That said, this group of girls always try their best and seem to enjoy themselves which at the end of the day is what Schools' football should be all about.
Squad:
Arabella Wooley ,Skye Hines, Millie Barnfield ,Rosie, Nevaeh Jackson, Avaani Hayer,
Ruby Maclean, Lois Howard, Tayla Wassell.
