We entered two 5-a-side teams for The Kings Cup and were delighted to see one of our sides eventually reach the final of this annual event. Alex made his debut in goal for the B team and they made an excellent start to the competition by winning their opening two fixtures. Corban,Ty and Fabian were all on target in a 3-0 victory over East Birmingham B and once Tyr had followed up with a brace in a 2-0 win over South Birmingham B confidence was high until Aston's A side brought us back down to earth. Despite losing 4-0 the lads put up a good performance,however, against the eventual winners and went on to defeat Kings Norton B 2-1, with goals from Ty and Corban, in their fourth game. Their last two matches didn't go quite so well but despite single goal defeats to Erdington B and Sutton Coldfield A the lads can look back on their morning's performance with pride.

Our A team were outstanding at times despite losing 1-0 in their opening fixture against Kings Norton A and they went on to reach the final after remaining unbeaten in their next six games.
These included 2-0 A team victories over South Birmingham, Aston and Harborne , a 2-2
draw against Erdington B and a 5-2 win over Sutton Coldfield B before a magificent all round performance accounted for Sutton Coldfield A in a comprehensive 4-1 semi final victory. Aston ultimately lifted The Kings Cup by winning 1-0 in a game of fine margins but we matched them every inch of the Final and came so close to gaining our first trophy.
