December 15th 2023. U12 Girls lose a seven goal thriller.

Updated: Dec 19, 2023

The U12 girls' team played a very competitive friendly game at Rushall Olympic as part of their preparation for the ESFA Plate QF against Carmarthen after Christmas and lost 4-3 to Silhill who were strenghtened by a strong contingent of players who also represent Birmingham City. Millie Barnfield stepped up from the U11’s to join us due to a few injury and availability concerns but we still entered the game full of confidence only to find ourselves 3-0 down as a result of sloppy defending. Fortunately we pulled a goal back to trail by just two goals at the break and the second half was much more positive as we grew into the game. Incredibly we even drew level at 3-3 with goals from Lshae, Leja and Georgia and the match was now back in the balance.

From that point the game could have gone either way, with both teams creating a host of chances, but Silhil managed to convert just one of theirs to put an end to our spirited comeback.

Squad :Poppy Pitt, Evie Holmes, Eesha Sidhu, Freya Rickuss,Georgia Hambrook, Jess Pullan,

Grace Steadman, Leja Lopetaityte, Imogen Jones, Kiran Bhella, Lshae Thomas, Samaira Paul, Millie Barnfield.
